Case study - Newsletter marketing

A client of my Reinvent Your Business program started using a monthly newsletter. His industry or field does not matter because I have multiple case studies from at least 10 sectors.

The problem

The problem was to be in touch with tough prospective customers. Tough means those Customers who are difficult to reach by any media.

On phone - Cannot reach

In-person - No.

Via WhatsApp - doesn't use it.

Via email - Staff handles it.

How in the world we can reach these prospects then?

The solution

Monthly newsletters were the solution I suggested. You may wonder what exactly is newsletter. If you want to receive a sample, send WhatsApp “Newsletter” to phone 9923345922 and you will receive a sample.

Newsletter

A print Publication which contains information and entertainment. which is sent to your customers and prospective customers via post or courier.

Important- It's printed and sent by post or courier! (not via WhatsApp)

It contains articles, industry news, graphics, and reports that your customers will find really interesting. It contains some promotional items also.

The results

Month 1

We sent 8-page Newsletter to about 1400 prospects + customers and got a few replies from existing customers mentioning that they received it.

no other calls, nothing.

Month 2

We sent the next issue of an 8-page newsletter to the same 1400 prospects & customers.

Again got a few existing customers' replies thanking clients for sending newsletters.

Also, received 4 to 5 calls, asking, why my client was sending the Newsletters to them.

The client answers the reasons. No other calls.

Month 3

Again existing customers called and thanked. They mentioned that they enjoyed the Newsletter very much, few of them mentioned some articles on the issues and how they liked it.

From others - Here’s the twist.

My client received 8 new calls from prospective customers. Out of these 8 calls, 6 asked about the services and requested quotations from a client about their specific needs. A big thing right? One person asked to stop sending him The ‘Ridiculous’ Newsletters.

The 8th person called and discussed with the client and confirmed the order immediately on the phone. He said he was so impressed with my client's consistency that he wanted to go ahead with us.

Now, the order value does matter in this case. It was in six figures (1.5 lakh) but that is not the best thing.

After their call, my client called me and was so excited to share the details with me, he said that he had been trying to just meet that person for the last two and a half years but could not even succeed in getting a personal meeting and here with this newsletter that person himself called and spoke with the client for almost 10 to 15 minutes.

My client was happy beyond description.

That's the power Of effective Newsletter marketing. By the way one of my firms provides “Done for you” Newsletter marketing.

It does everything - writing, designing, getting printed, envelopes and even giving couriers/ post.

Let me know if your business needs this Newsletter marketing service.

Disclaimers

1. Not everybody will get lots of rupees In order in 3rd month. It may take long time, much longer.

2. Investment is required for this campaign. For this client, sending 1400 Newsletters needed @32000 every month x 3-6-12 months.

3. Content - what you write in the newsletter is VERY important. You cannot put the same, AI-generated, poor-quality content or articles and expect good returns. You need a VERY specific type of content for Newsletters.

But every time I've used newsletters, my clients have benefitted from it.
