One of the biggest tragedy of businesses is most of their staff people, most of their team members, they are not interested in their customers. They don't care about their customers. They don't value their customers as much as they should. This may come as a surprise to many of our readers, but it's a fact. At one of my consulting clients we invite everyone for training sessions, where we teach very fundamental things like Customer Service &amp;&nbsp; Customer Communication. Surprisingly, very, very few people from the department other than Customer Service come and attend those sessions.&nbsp;This is really sad. It shows the attitude people are having towards their customers. It shows that even though those people are communicating with those very same customers, they are actually not interested in how they're communicating with them. All they're interested in is -&nbsp;for example Accounts department or Finance Department&nbsp;is interested only in getting their bills paid by their customers. Sometimes they act as recovery department. In many companies, they are labelled as recovery team, or Recovery Department. Recovery means regular bills or monthly due bills and they have to recover that. Now, when we are labelling someone as recovery team, we can imagine the kind of communication they are doing with the customers sometimes. I pity&nbsp;sales team and marketing team.&nbsp;They do everything in their power and beyond to get someone as&nbsp;customer.&nbsp;The moment the prospect becomes customer he is handed over to other departments like fulfilment or operations or production, accounts,&nbsp;recovery and so on. Whatever promises&nbsp;made to that customer are all washed up by these other departments. The sole reason for that is&nbsp;they are simply not interested in customers. They are simply not interested in retaining that customer.&nbsp; Why? Simple.Because that is job of customer service department. That job is of marketing department that job is of sales department. And so they never take any effort&nbsp;to maintain that customer; to gain or regain that customer month in and month out. It shouldn't be that way. There is one very simple way. All you have to do is in your business&nbsp;Make everyone interested in your customers. Train them in proper communication skills. Train them in respecting your customers. Teach them that it's their job not only to serve the customer but&nbsp;to make customers happy. It's their job&nbsp;to recover or to get payments by customers.&nbsp;But at the same time, make customers feel good about paying. it should never come to recovery, actually.Do this for few months.&nbsp;And you will see tremendous change in the way your customers communicate with you; in the way your customers pay you; in the way your customers treat you.
