Most of the business owners are allergic to these two words - system & follow up. One can only imaging what they feel when they hear both the words together.

Now I do understand that whenever we hear the word follow up, images of credit card or loan sellers pop up in our minds. Which we all know are always so desparate to convince you.  They seem desparate because they ARE desparate. And that's why that desparation shows through their communication with you.

Bur you don't need to be desparate to do followup on a lead or enquiry. Infact, having a systematic followup means going far away from looking needy. Surprised? Don't be.

When we do not have proper & effective system in place, all we tell our marketing people is to do one thing & one thing only - Call the prospective customer or patient. Call them. Call & check. Call to confirm the order. Call to see why he is not ordering. Call to see what is stopping them. Call to see if any competitor has creeped in or what. 

Call. Call. Call. Call. & Call.

This is sure sign of a desparate follower who wants to get your business at any cost!

Savvy business owners & their teams don't do this. They develope multimedia system that uses various ways & methods to get in touch with their prospective customers. 

This not helps them & their teams, but it is so welcomed gesture by their customers, that their customers sometimes compliment them on the effectiveness of their followups. They actually call up the sales or marketing person and tell them they enjoy their follow ups, they enjoy the way they are handling the communicatons. 

This same can happen in your business too. All you have to do is prepare your mind to put in a system for effective follow ups. And this is not that difficult. 

Of course, initially you will face many problems & even resistance from your team members. But never forget why are doing this. It's your duty to make them realize that this is for their benefit also. You are not trying to increase their work load. On the contrary you are reducing it and at the same coaching them to get more results with less work. Which is beneficial for the team also.

Once they understand this, you can be sure that now you are going to get more & more business on autopilot. Month in & month out. 

But to make this happen, first study how proper followup is done & then customise it for your business. That will take some time but it will be well worth the investment of time, efforts & money.
