We all know what a personal diary is. Today I'm going to share with you what a Business Diary is.

First of all, let me ask you about your personal diary. In the personal diary, we always keep various things that happen in our day to day life. What we did; what we achieved; where we failed - all these things are recorded in our personal diary.

Now, my question is, why shouldn't every business have a business diary? The diary could be from the business owner. It could be from the manager or spouse if you are not having time for it. It could be from a person who is involved in day to day operations of the business.

& You don't need to be VERY very BIG setup to keep a diary. Even if you're a small to medium business and you are calling on the shots then definitely you could benefit a lot with this business diary.

This business Diary will help a lot.

The Why Story behind Business Diary

Let me share with you why I'm coming up with this concept of maintaining a Business diary.

It so happened that I was consulting with businesses

who are in existence for probably 15 - 16 years. And all they could advertise is just one line- 'Since 2005'. I tried to talk with their owners, their business family. What are the things that have happened in all these 15 - 16 years and surprisingly, very few things came up.

Whereas there were so many inspirational, motivational, success and failure stories that occurred in those years. But since there is no record, nobody knows those things.

We are always talking about the digital age. We are always talking about digital media and we're always talking about the huge resources that are available for us.

Now, because of these resources, it is very easy for anyone to keep a business diary so that whenever the need arises, you can simply go through your business diary and check out how you did face a particular problem 10 years ago; how you overcame this tremendous competition that was introduced by a new competitor in the market; and how you survive that.

All these things could be very, very easily mentioned in the business diary and later on referred. Imagine that you are handing over your business to your next generation or next generation of your top management.

What kind of resources they will have at their hand, when you have written your business diary for them?

How you started your successes, your failures, the way you handled specific situations the way you introduced the products, the way you introduced a service. The way you got your first customer, your 10th customer, your 100 customers, your 1000s Customer.

All those things you can write in your business diary.
Surprisingly, this concept is very new. But even if you want to start today, you know down the line in a year's period you will find that there are so many things that you can enter into your diary. It is not necessary that you have to list very, very, very big things.

No, not at all.

All you need to do is write down what you think is important or what you think could be important later

on. It may be a simple pricing strategy. It may be a simple poster that you put in your clinic or in your shop window or at the entrance. It could be about some enthusiastic customer who came and help you spread the word without expecting anything in return. You can write all those things in this business Diary.

Think of how you can start it.

We don't want to go into very fancy stuff. All you need to do is get a notebook to start writing into that and later on that will become a superb resource for your own business.

So what you're going to write in your Business Diary today?
