We get tired of those things.We feel that since we are looking at those things day in and day out, Our customers are getting bored by that also. The fact is very few of our customers notice those things and fewer notices that those things are being repeated again and again. So there is very small chance of them being bored by our marketing, by our business practices or by our advertising or by our communication that we do with our customers.The fact is we get bored and because of that we want to change it. We want to do something new. We want to do something that is different and it leads us to finding that one new thing which will give us- An edge over our competitors- The edge which will earn us more and more customers-&nbsp;The edge which will attract new customers to our business, our products or our services.Now, don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong in this thinking. We should always be on lookout of new ways ,&nbsp;creative ways&nbsp;that will help us in serving our customers in a better way, in a faster way.The problem starts when we have different motive behind our actions. Since we feel that everybody else is doing something we must do that thing. That is never true.You must understand that I am the person who always tell my clients&nbsp;that what brought you from point A to point B will never take you from point B to point C and still, here I am today telling you that you should try to avoid Shiny Star syndrome at all costs.The reason behind that is we must understand the motive, the purpose behind our actions.When I tell you to change your ways, for going from point B to point C, there is a strategy behind that. There is reason behind that. Because what brought you from point A to point B has stopped working altogether.I never ask to change the way just because I get bored with those things or my client get bored with those things. I advise those things when it stops working, it stops bringing new customers, it stops attracting your old customers back to your business.Now that is very very very different than simply stop using what is working and then going after something which you have seen one of your competitor or one of your friend is doing.Take any example in offline marketing or in online marketing. every day something new comes up. Every day One new media may spring up.And many businesses go after those media or those new things. The moment you come to know about that you start feeling "Oh, that is something which is going to be very big and I should start getting on it or doing it as soon as possible. I don't want to be late to the party."Now when you want to try something new, you have to take your time, your resources, your efforts away from something. So that you can learn about that new thing and you can start using it. Most of the times those efforts, that money, those resources come from the things which have been working very well for your business already. So it's a&nbsp;great mistake to take that something that is working and put everything behind that new thing, which is not yet proven and that too just because you got bored. So avoid chasing that new&nbsp;Shiny Star and focus on those things that are working great in your business even if you get bored with those.
